Ami began painting at the age of 8 and grew to use art as an escape from the struggles of inner city life. She grew up admiring artists such as Diego Velazquez, Frida Kahlo, Basquiat, and Salvador Dali. The purpose behind her art is to connect with individuals seeking to express the moments, places, people, and things that inspire them to continue forward in life.
